KEVIN PARKER AGAIN

Those of you who have been following my columns and posts for the past five years must be aware that I have written many columns directly relating to Senator Kevin Parker’s explosive temper. Initially there were those detractors who would come up on the blogs to attack me for highlighting his lack of decorum and his uneven (sometimes volatile) temperament. And then there were those who suggested I was angry for not being the senator, since I did initially consider running for his seat (when newly created in 2002). I also demonstrated that he lacked integrity, for going back on his word during the early 2002 campaign for the 21st senatorial district. It was one of the reasons why I withdrew from the race back then.

The truth is this, politically speaking: I know Parker quite well; and for many years now. I have also been directly in front of a few of Kevin’s meltdowns. I have seen the crazed look on his face during a blowup. I have seen the wild eyes reflecting someone totally OUT OF CONTROL. It is a bit scary.

One time he confronted me at a public forum (debate) in a Brooklyn church, and I swear that every bone in my body told me that I may have to kill or be killed if this escalated further. He was taking off his jacket and ordering me to take it (a fight) outside. I told myself that I would have had to take this fool out of here and end his misery: otherwise I am history.

Funny thing is there are times when I walk with pseudo-bodyguards who will be packing heat. That was one of those times.  It could have gotten real funky. I went down stairs to the court yard and wiser heads convinced him to stay put. Whew! (I never said I wasn’t a fool sometimes).

Another time he confronted Wellington Sharpe at Brooklyn’s Café Omar (Kendall Stewarts’s club); I was standing right next to Sharpe. It was a Saturday night. There were about 200 people attending one of Kendall’s birthday parties. I saw that crazed look again, as this senator -clad in an all white outfit- started ranting and raving. Sharpe and I were being dared to come outside and fight. Fortunately for all concerned, I never lost my cool that night (nor did my bodyguards).

So when I initially wrote of Parker’s temper and anger, I implied way back in 2006 that this brother needs help; big help. The kind of help you can only get from mental health professionals. As the years have gone by, does anyone now doubt my diagnosis?

Yesterday at a state senate confirmation hearing Kevin went ballistic (again), and further exacerbated the situation with the type of racist rantings we are accustomed to hearing from say a Charles Barron. It was another sad display of someone totally unfit for office (it now appears).

Is there any doubt now that after about a half dozen or more of these displays; my observations, analysis and conclusions on/of this individual have been vindicated? After too many violent outbursts and too many demonstrations of erratic behavior Kevin Parker needs to be stripped of his seat. If the senate doesn’t act to do this, then what they did to Hiram Monseratte was arbitrary and unfair when compared to Parker’s lengthy sordid record.  He is nothing short of a pit bull without a leash. You don’t want to hear some of the rumors of his intemperate actions.

The first thing that needs to be done is administer a drug test on Parker: something is definitely wrong with this wanabee bad boy. Maybe it starts with his meds; or is it something that he is eating, smoking, snorting or drinking? Whatever it is, it keeps a highly intelligent guy like this, from thinking straight at times. For many years now, I have tried my best to stay out of this bad boy’s way. I know if I ever see him coming at me in some dark alley, I will be hoping and praying that I didn’t leave my gun at home that day: self-defense is one of nature’s first dictates.

Back in the old days, they used to take rabid mad dogs out to the tool shed, and shoot them before too much foam escaped from the sides of their mouth. Since the Monseratte decision, the senate disciplinary committee has been in retreat; but in the immortal words of Sarah Palin: they need to reload. NUFF SAID.

Stay tuned-in folks.
