The name my co-religionists attach to the era of Islamic rule in the Iberian Peninsula is "The Golden Age" (it produced Maimonides, who, it should be noted, was part of the King's Court). For my co-religionists, the restoration of Christian rule in Spain resulted in torture, forced conversion, and exile, the last of which only ended with the death of Franco.
