Schneiderman internal memo may be the one thing that could convince me to support Rice.

One must also note that with the WFP and its interlocking allies supporting him, the actual size of the Schneiderman campaign chest is unknown. Eric Schneiderman Campaign Memo Says Times “Earthquake” Eliminates Eric Dinallo, Sean Coffey And Ric www.cityhallnews.com

Snarkiest unspoken point of the week:

"When I wrote that the two most obvious explanations for opposition to the mosque were bigotry and political opportunism. I should have made clear that I don't think Charles is a bigot."

WHY THERE? Ground Zero: The real estate perspective, and for those who've purchased anything in this City, entirely credible:

Listen,” said El-Gamal, “do you have any clue how the Manhattan real-estate market works, what is involved? People seem to think that we picked that building to make some kind of point. But that is simply insane. This is New York; no matter who you are, you just don’t choose a building, move in, and take over. Do you know how many places I looked at? I looked at Chambers Street. I looked at Vesey Street, Broadway, Greenwich Street, Warren Street, Murray Street. Maybe half a dozen more, I can’t even remember now. It was only after all that that Park Place came up. Secondly, because, while genital mutilation is not mentioned in the Koran, it is a practice that much (though certainly not all) of the Islamic world has adopted as a religious rite.

I know it is not a religious doctrines per se, but, being a Reform Jew, I incline to the idea that a religion is, de facto, composed of those beliefs actually held by its professed adherents, rather than what's contained in some ancient text.
