Let's see, on the one hand you have the winner of a no-money primary for an unwinnable seat the media ignored and no one turned out to vote in, (choosing instead to get a GOP primary ballot and join in the far sexier Nikki Haley slimefest).
On the other hand, you have the “shot heard round the world,” as a popular, sure-to-win-the general, At-Large Congressman and one-time Governor gets overwhelmed by out of state money, voter anger and changing time, and gets beaten by the Vagabond Virgin.

I'm sorry, but I don't care about Michael Vick.
Those who say he is emblematic for the cause of giving offenders a new start are just deluding themselves. He is emblematic for the concept that even the rare celebrity who actually does the time along with the crime still has a leg up over his fellow ex-offenders and most of us as well.
Those who say he should be denied his livelihood (who, until this week, included many of my friends on the left) seem to be obsessed with the idea that star athletes are role models (when, in reality, most have been spoiled brats since they began being wooed by colleges) and should instead use the example of Vick to spread the gospel of why this should not be so.
I think the President is entitled to his opinion about sports, but I could have lived without hearing this one.
And I hope they didn't give Vick a puppy as part of his signing bonus.
