Return of the Golden Watch (and Cox Still Sucks)

As readers already know, in 2008, when Hiram Monserrate was arrested, it took Marty Golden THREE DAYS to introduce a resolution asking him not to file his oath of office.

67 DAYS AGO, Carl Kruger, who helped to elect Golden, was arrested.

Golden has yet to say a word.

WHAT’S THE DISTINCTION MARTY?

If Marty Golden does not soon introduce a resolution concerning Carl Kruger, he will have revealed himself as a bloviating, hypocritical bag of wind.

Of course, since, unlike Golden, I believe in the presumption of innocence, I would oppose such a resolution (and laugh out loud if it passed; which it wouldn’t).

The blog of the pro-Golden wing of the Brooklyn GOP, “The Jig is Up Atlas” has recently undertaken a campaign of attack against local Democrats who’ve refused to call upon Kruger to resign. They are constantly calling out local Democrats for relationships with Kruger far less intimate than the one Kruger has with Golden.

But, after I began “The Golden Watch,” they grew strangely silent.

But someone at “The Jig” must believe the danger has passed, because they’ve started up again.

Today “The Jig” attacked a local Democrat for receiving $755 over the course of a two year period, ending over a year ago, from one of Kruger‘s co-defendants.

I really don’t think it means very much, if anything, but if it does mean much, than far more money given far more recently would mean far more; right?

As Kruger aficionados know, perhaps Kruger’s closest non-sexual associate, other than mother-in-law “Hot Dot” Turano, was lobbyist Richard Lipsky. They’ve been thisclose.

The most hilarious non-Turano related detail of recent Kruger stories is that when investigators searched Lipsky’s apartment (with Kruger repeatedly calling during the visit), they found $106,000 in cash, $4,000 of it in a suit pocket to facilitate easy access.

So guess what?

A very quick review of Marty Golden’s Campaign Committee filings reveal the following gift in his most recent report:

Filing Year Contributor Amt Date

2011 LIPSKY, DOROTHY 3,000.00 18-DEC-10

Just in case it isn’t obvious, Dorothy is Richard’ wife (out of courtesy and because I had troble formatting, I've left out Dorohty's address, but rest assured, it is the same as Richard's). You know, the one who makes sure that the cash left around the house is nicely cleaned and pressed.

Apparently, in this case, it was pressed upon Marty Golden.

But to be fair, the Bay Ridge Bloviator and his hate blog, “The Jism is Up,” are probably not the biggest hypocrites in this story.

That would be Republican State Chair “Fast Eddie” Cox.

When last seen in these quarters Cox was had the nerve to say that Albany corruption is “definitely a Democratic problem.”

As my article went on to document, this was wrong in at least three different aspects:

1) Republicans, especially Joe Bruno, were at least as responsible for Albany corruption as Democrats, and probably more so. Even now, their shakedowns continue.

2) Republicans are responsible for enabling Kruger’s power.

3) Kruger was present at the creation of Senator Marty Golden. They’ve been thisclose.

But in fairness to Cox, unlike with Golden, there was never a connection established between Kruger’s extended political family and Cox’s.
