After months of prick-teasing, Rock finally comes out in favor of same sex marriage.
I think Rock should have called this piece "The 32nd Vote"
Despite some strange remarks (it is a Rock piece after all), metaphorically, this puts us over the top.
Which is appropriate, since "over the top" is Rock's usual position (perhaps not the best choice of words). COMING OUT FOR SAME-SEX MARRIAGE | Room Eight www.r8ny.com
"[Some] Republican senators…argue that the issue should be decided by popular referendum, not legislation."
I'll bite; if they agree to put an Independent Redistricting Commission on the ballot at the same time.
No need to worry; they’d sooner legalize polygamy (hell, that might attract some Republican Mormons to the State) Albany Senate Republicans Weigh Gay Marriage Vote www.nytimes.com
Great piece from Colin (and not just because he links me, but because he explicitly expresses the point I've been inferring about the MSM's coverage of who's a likely candidate for the Weiner opening (perhaps not the best choice of words). The Brooklyn Politics Blog www.thebrooklynpolitics.com
I've avoided adding Jonathan Yedin to my dis list of implausible candidates for Weiner’s seat, not only because I like him, but because the idea of his candidacy is actually being taken seriously in some quarters.
Yedin’s smart, energetic, charismatic, Jewish, well connected to Russians (he worked for one) and Sephardim (he is one), and actually lives in the district and has a record there.
A short stint in Congress would help set him up for some thankless but important Democratic task, like running against Marty Golden.
Problems is that all those things would make him a plausible candidate–if he were from Queens. Yedin Confirms Interest In Weiner’s Seat | PolitickerNY www.politickerny.com
My old hometown of Sheepshead Bay, where all the single women live on pensions (it’s like Florida without the oranges) whines about being represented by Kruger and Weiner.
Typically, the more conservative Kruger is the one who adheres to traditional monogamy, while the more pluralistic Weiner favors Roman hands and Russian fingers, even if only in the privacy of his own computer room. Double Whammy: Repped By Weiner AND Kruger www.nydailynews.com

The Times on the Carroll Gardens Pizza Slicing:
"The scene, on a Friday afternoon in April, seemed a chaotic clash of old and new Brooklyn"
Huh; wasn't it two guy who grew up here who got into the fight?
Anyway, well informed word on the street is there was a witness, who apparently decided to leave the country–for “health reasons.”
Most poignant moment:
