The primary was almost two weeks ago, but Gestetner (spinning for the Aronis) and Orthodox Pundit (articulating the Zali line) are still doing their autopsies (and I thought such things were halachically forbidden).

They agree on one thing–that Hasidim accounted for 90% of the 7th CD's vote coming from within AD 50.

And they are both probably wrong.

But puffing the Hasidic numbers is the one area of mutual Zali/Aroni interest.

Skurnick's count of Dems in the 50th AD part of the 7th CD indicates that Spanish surnames are 4,743 out of 21,901 or 21. 6 %. And that doesn't count Blacks, Yuppies, Asians (part of Lindsay Park was counted in the 50th for this primary, even though it will be in the 53rd for the September primary) and others.

As tempting (and appropriate) as it is to have a laugh at the expense of the City Council, this article exposing a supposed scandal about member items does its best to obscure the fact that if a group does not become IRS compliant, it will not get funded, so I'm not sure what here justifies the story's front page status. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/city-council-members-steer-300-000-pork-cash-outfits-badly-run-v www.nydailynews.com

One is entitled to believe that The President's Health Care Reform squeezes too much savings from Medicare, or that it does not go far enough in doing so, but one really cannot believe that it does both those things at once.

For the Post's information, the area of the West Side between 96th and 110 has been calling itself Bloomingdale at least since the mid-80s, if not longer.

However, that area, west of Broadway is known as Manhattan Valley. W. Siders: Call us ‘Bloomingdale’ www.nypost.com
