Romney: A Not Ready For Prime Time Player. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/09/mitts-apology-tour-line-crashes-against-reality.html nymag.com
The statement Romney condemned did not come from the White House or the State Department, was issued before the violence began by someone at the embassy, in a state of panic (resembling Dubya's statement about the Danish cartoons in 2006) and without authorization, and had been repudiated by the White House by the time Romney issued his statement.
Yet, Romney doubled down. Because Romney’s guiding light is Erich Segal and his watchword is "being President is never having to say I’m sorry.” Unfit For Government, Ctd andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com

The Daily News Editorial Board has the right to its own opinions, but not to its own facts.
Though I endorsed Teresa Ciccotto for Civil Court, the News’ assertion "Finkelstein and Mostofsky are backed by rival Borough Park Democratic Party factions. Ciccotto is independent" is pure fiction; Ciccotto is a longtime activist in the Star and Stripes Democratic Club backed by Peter Abbate, Alec Brook-Krasny and Vinnie Gentile (not that there's anything wrong with it).
But it is the News’ assertion that Lara Genovesi is "a law secretary to a Democratic machine-backed judge" that is a stone fucking disgrace.
Jeffrey Sander Sunshine is, by merit appointment, the State's Chief Judge for Matrimonial Matters. A longtime appointed Family Court Judge, the Kings County Democratic Organization eventually elevated Sunshine to Supreme Court (where he'd been serving by merit appointment for many years in an Acting capacity) only under considerable duress from the powers that be in the Office of Court Administration and the legal estaablishment. Though an expert in matrimonial matters, Justice Sunshine is considerably less political than my nine year old.
The Daily News owes Justice Sunshine an apology. Daily News endorsements for Surrogate and Civil Court www.nydailynews.com
