Only couple of days ago I said “But, lately NYC politics appears headed largely to discussions better handled by a crime reporter.”
It was meant to be a joke (albeit one where the laugh got stuck in your throat).
I won’t comment on today’s latest set of charges, but let me just say there is a small tragedy here in the midst of the larger ones.
The latest charges have led to the resignation of Assemblyman Nelson Castro.
His absence from the affairs of the State will not be a tragedy.
Frankly, it will be an improvement.
But, inadvertently, a crime has been committed.
The people are being robbed of a real election. Further, it is a serial offense.
