Every once in a while there comes a column by a purportedly reputable opinion writer which is such a monumental pile of intellectual dishonesty or unadulterated ignorance (if not both) that it deserves special notice.
Such is the case with July 17th’s “Filibuster follies: Reid’s Rotten ‘Reform’” by John Podhoretz, which does the near impossible trick of disgracing the NY Post.
The Pod is outraged about the aborted efforts of US Senate Democrats to make a small change in the rules of the Senate to allow Presidential nominees to be confirmed without first attaining a super-majority of 60 to close debate (instead the Dems agreed not to press the rule change in exchange for actual votes on a bunch of stalled nominations).
