With control of the State Senate at stake, this race presents important questions.
Given the history of party disloyalty by some of the candidates; can they all be trusted to vote with the Democrats to organize the Senate?
Given the sometimes conservative record or one or more of the candidates, even if they vote with the Democrats to organize the Senate, can they be trusted to vote with them on the issues?
Do any of the candidates display both the maturity and integrity to represent their constituents in Albany?
Can blues men sign the whites (or something like that)?
