Most annoyingly, the day has been filled with Jimmy McMillan puff pieces.
OMFG, JIMMY'S being interviewed on MSNBC by Larence O'Donnell!
The upside of being the blog world's expert on Jimmy McMillan‘s raving lunatic obsession with THE JEWS is that those few outlets willing to mention that fact in passing sometimes give me a link . Today I got what I think may be my first ever link on The Albany Times Union’s Capitol Confidential. I was also linked on the News’ Daily Politics and Ben Smith's Twitter feed.
On the downside, my snarky put down of Errol Louis' proud boast about getting an one-stage shout out from McMillan got me unfriended and blocked by him on Facebook.
I dunno Errol, but I can think of six million reasons why I would not be proud to get a shout out from a man who holds THE JEWS responsible for 9/11. If it happened to me, I’d not be boasting, I’d be blushing.
For those who missed it, here is part of the screed where Mcmillan blames the Reform and Conservative branches of Judaism (check the link) for 9/11:
This is Jimmy McMillan, The Union of Orthodox Rabbis and I agree in the New York Times where they published an article in (c1997) ( CLICK HERE) before there weregroups pretending to be Jews in the State of New York this was before the attack on the World Trade Center in (c2001). When you look for trouble you find trouble when you hear the word / name Jew and or Jewish the importance of the conversation is no longer important. So then let me help you get the definition Jew and Jewish correct. Jew / Jewish, is not a Race it is a Religion. PLEASE, educate yourself before you open your mouth. |
(Independent Private Investigator) Jimmy McMillan, Twelve (12) years before the attack on the World Trade Centers (c1989) I uncovered Al Qaeda's strong hole operating out of Williamsburg Brooklyn in the Heart of the people of the Jewish Faith community using them as a Shield to commit the most evil act of terror. |
The Union of Orthodox Rabbis Four (4) years before the attack on the World Trade Centers (c1997) the Union of Orthodox Rabbis unveiled their identity by (Casting out 2 Branches that were not practicing Judaism at all)in the Press (Media) but the Union of Orthodox Rabbis was quickly denounced by Jewish Groups not to be qualified to make such a decision. |
And on September 11, 2001 they made there move. They attacked the World Trade Centers. |
Yet so few still acknowledge the truth about what McMillan has said.
Here‘s Willaimsburg’s favorite bicycle not, Baruch Herzfeld, who this morning endorsed McMillan:
“what Jimmy says about the Jews, so does a lawsuit on the broadway triangle. The chasidim and vito Lopez are purposefully trying to build low income housing at only six stories, both so they can walk the stairs on shabbat and so they don't have to share with anyone else. If he said the zalmanites instead of "the Jews" he would have been more correct.”
Really? Marty Needleman and Brooklyn Legal Services are suing the Reform and Conservative branches of Judaism for the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11?
But it isn’t only lovable Williamsburg eccentrics who believe this is more about housing than hatred
CELESTE KATZ: Another reader pointed out to me that during a 2005 run for mayor, McMillan was called an anti-Semite for blaming the fact that the rent is too damn high on Jewish people.
THE NEW YORK TIMES: A perennial candidate, he was called an anti-Semite during his mayoral run in 2005 for blaming rent problems on Jewish people.
GAWKER: McMillen, a former postal worker also know as "Papa Smurf," has been a longtime subject of Gawker's fascination (we endorsed his mayoral run in 2005, though we've never completely forgiven him for blaming high rent on "the Jewish People").
HUFFINGTON POST: As the chief spokesman of the "The Rent Is 2 Damn High Party" McMillan is no political novice. He mounted a campaign for mayor in 2005, and became embroiled in controversy when he blamed his party's primary platform — the rent being too damn high — on New York's Jewish property owners. He's since apologized.
THE NEW YORK POST: McMillan disputed claims that he made anti-Semitic comments during a prior run for mayor under the pro-tenant banner. He said he complained that Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg were getting favorable treatment for housing vouchers.
Further, we are told that McMillan merely told the truth and is being mislabeled by his enemies; that some of his best friends are Jews; if he ever made any biased remarks, that he apologizes-even if though has no idea which remarks‘ he made could possibly cause such offense; that he loves Jews and everyone else; and that we have bigger problems as a society and it is time to move on.
It is a non-denial denial and a non-apology apology. See for yourself:
There have been comments that I have attempted to label me anti-semitic or anti-Jewish. This has been nothing more than "kill the messenger" and "character assignation" politics as usual which was spread by opponents that have nothing better to say. It may sound trite in this matter but even in this campaign I rely on Jewish close friends and advisors.
However, if I have ever made any biased remarks toward anyone or any group I heartfeltly apologize. Further, I apologize to the Jewish community for having to suffer the boorish bias of anyone. Even the reminder that there is still bias in America bias is painful; as a Black-American Man I empathize fully with the Jewish-American community.
I don't judge people by their religion, I honor them for what values their religion brings to their family, their community, and our nation. In fact, I believe we need more reliance on the moral laws brought by religion and not limit out goodwill to our neighbors and co-workers to what the law demands alone.
We are now in an era where our economic concerns are so pressing that any of this false bias labeling of me, or any other candidate, is a huge distraction of the true issues and disservice to the voters. Let's stay focused on building our state and our nation.
To tell you the truth, it is a very professional statement, so much so that Carl Paladino appears to have used it as a model, although Paladino is slightly more forthcoming about what might have caused the offense:
"I am Carl Paladino, a father, a husband, a builder and a business owner. I am neither perfect, nor a career politician. I have made mistakes in this campaign – I have made mistakes all my life- as we all have. I am what I am – a simple man who works hard, trusts others, and loves his family and fears for the future of our State.
Yesterday I was handed a script. I redacted some contents that were unacceptable. I did also say some things for which I should have chosen better words. I said other things that the press misinterpreted and misstated. I sincerely apologize for any comment that may have offended the Gay and Lesbian Community or their family members. Any reference to branding an entire community based on a small representation of them is wrong. My personal beliefs are:
1) I am a live and let live person.
2) I am 100% against discrimination of any group. I oppose discrimination of any kind in housing, credit, insurance benefits or visitation.
3) I am 100% against hate crimes in any form.
4) I am in support of civil agreements and equal rights for all citizens.
5) My position on marriage is based on my personal views. I have the same position on this issue as President Barrack Obama. I have previously stated I would support a referendum by New York voters. I have proposed Initiative and Referendum so New Yorkers can decide important issues like this.
6) The portrayal of me as anti-gay is inconsistent with my lifelong beliefs and actions and my prior history as an father, employer and friend to many in the gay and lesbian community.
I am concerned with the future for all our citizens, gay, straight, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Muslim and Agnostic. Although I am not perfect I do admit my mistakes. I will reach out to leaders of the gay community to educate me on how to better represent my support for the rights of all citizens. If elected as your governor I will stand and fight for all gay New Yorkers rights. I ask you for forgiveness on my poorly chosen words and the publication by others not involved with our campaign of unredacted script that did not reflect my oral statement or match my personal feelings. Please go to my website www.paladinoforthepeople.com to learn more detail about the issues including my staunch support for civil rights for all New Yorkers."
I will admit McMillan gets more points for not blaming anyone else. Sheesh, he can barely even blame himself.
Why am I beating this dead horse into the ground?
Well, for starters, McMillan is trouble. Last year, he helped draw away anti-Bloomberg votes from Bill Thompson (given that those most worried about unaffordable rents are not a big Bloomberg demographic). This year, the antic of one of McMillan’s allies helped cost Democrats their strongest candidate in a targeted State Senate race.
Fifty thousand votes for Governor will get McMillan, a serial election fraudulator, a line on the ballot for the next four years. A man with control of his own ballot line has never been known to eat a bad meal or sit in the bleachers.
Do you know what anti-Semitic psychos and other opportunists do when they get their own NYS ballot line with an appealing party name? They rob the taxpayers blind while practicing extortion on candidates.
Is this Jimmy McMillan’s game? He might not be as smart as Fred Newman, but he’s apparently just as hungry.
Here’s what former US Senate candidate Randy Credico says about hiring McMillan’s group to get him on the ballot, and getting nothing but blank sheets:
"I'm still a bit mystified by the manner in which I was kicked off. At the end I only had 13,350 out of the necessary 15,000 signatures. I thought I was well over the top when I turned those suckers in with your pals at the Board of Elections. However, I knew …something weird was going on when I walked in and noticed half the people sitting in the lobby were waiting for me to drop off my share of the multi-candidate joint petition. The two others candidates on the petition had earlier submitted their "volumes" containing what I thought were 2/3rds of the 30,000 signatures we had agreed upon. Little did I know the two gentlemen who I was convinced were working with me were actually working against me. They turned in a wagonload of blank pages and then left Albany in brand new automobiles. The joke was on me as I was soon to discover. How I allowed those jack-offs to insinuate their sorry asses into my campaign is beyond my knowledge. But I hope they enjoy their new wheels…"
You don't believe Credico? Ask, EUGENE MYRICK. OMFG, he's just told O'Donnell that he collected every signature on his petitions (both of them) personally. And Lawrence has no clue whatsoever what that really means.
As I pointed out last year, the Fulani-Newman wing of the Independence Party, with its own ballot line, is the Mercedes-Benz of anti-Semitic political parties, while Jimmy is stuck with the equivalent of the 72 Plymouth. But, as Credico points out, Jimmy wants to cash in and trade up, and with a new ballot line, he'd be driving in style, both figuratively and literally.
But with a ballot line of his own, Jimmy will not be restricted to sub-leasing his operation. He will be the landlord of his own ballot line! The Rent Will Still Be Too Damn High, But Jimmy will be collecting it.
Still, as nauseating as that prospect is, I will admit to being amused by the fact that McMillan’s showing may take the wind out of Charles Barron’s far more sophisticated effort at empowering another Statewide hate group (because McMillan and the Newman-Fulani faction of the Independence Party do not by themselves represent the full spectrum of political Anti-Semitism).
For once in his life, Barron was too subtle, communicating by dog whistles, and snide asides, he sounded too much like an insider to connect (and the most slippery of the insiders to boot–even Cuomo didn't dodge the same sex marriage question the way Barron did), while McMillan roused the rabble.
Charles Barron may be an ex-Panther, but compared to McMillan, he’s a de-clawed pussycat. Did Charles Barron ever spend a campaign traveling the state on foot, and getting himself expelled from the state Democratic Convention after he heckled Mario Cuomo? Was Barron ever found during a campaign at the side of the Belt Parkway tied to a tree, blindfolded, and doused with gasoline? Did Barron ever climb a cable on the Brooklyn Bridge, until he was finally coaxed down by police, and then hospitalized?
No, Barron the Panther is pretty much pusillanimous compared to McMillan, an untamed Lion, a wild man with a wild mane.
Chuck had better hang up his Nehru, because 1968 is truly over.
