The Gateway (Still on Vacation and still Pissed Off Edition)

I hate to say this, but the Weprin campaign would probably not suffer if the entire staff were shot at sunrise (and they've earned it) and were replaced by names randomly selected from the phone listings.

Might even be an improvement.

Normally anyone in this district who uses the Times as its palm card would already be voting for Weprin anyway–but in this race, he probably needs the help. For Congress in New York’s Ninth District www.nytimes.com

Weprin’s campaign produces a tape of which shows Turner opposing FEMA relief after a tornado in JUNIPER PARK, which arguably contradicts Turner's call for FEMA aid to Queens post-Irene, and which neatly highlights the indisputable fact that a Turner budget would make effective FEMA operations nearly impossible.

I would have called this at least a ground rule double for Weprin if it did not occur THE SAME DAY Weprin bugged out on a debate in front of THE JUNIPER PARK ASSOCIATION (?!?)

I know Corey Bearak lost the power at house, but it seems to me there should be someone in the campaign whose bulbs were not dim. The Brooklyn Politics Blog www.thebrooklynpolitics.com

The Post rightly challenges the nomination process for special elections, and cites the failure of Justin Jacobs to get on the ballot for Assembly in Queens as one of its arguments.

Problem is, Jacobs' error would have just as surely cost him his place on the ballot in a primary as it did in a special election. David Weprin, shrinking violet www.nypost.com

I spent a very short time in 2003 working for a consulting firm involved in getting people to take advantage of a state run home heating program. A friend recommended I meet Jumaane Williams, but warned me not to be alarmed if he started to curse me out for no reason.

I told my friend not to worry, since I'd worked over seven years for Marty Connor, so I was used to it. Councilman with Tourette’s is a Spokesman for Reform | PolitickerNY www.politickerny.com

Given the past blog posts by this gentleman threatening to sue people for libel, I will merely reprint this without any further comment other than to make clear that this did not come from The Onion:

"Attorney Ravi Batra, long a well-known player in Brooklyn courts and friendly with a number of jurists, has become “special counsel” to Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano. According to part of a notarized agreement between the two dated Aug. 15, Batra will provide advice “with special emphasis on fiscal management, ethical issues, and identifying fraud, waste and abuse in governance as they relate to Nassau County.'” Nassau hires 'special counsel' well known in NYC courts www.newsday.com

I hate to defend the psychotic Michele Bachmann, but for Romney to try to sell the story that he's been hurt in fundraising because donors think she's a fellow Jews is just an act on monumental chootspa.
