2011 Special Election Candidates

After I posted the report on who filed petitions to compete in this year’s Primary contests, I received an email from Gatemouth asking about the 5 NYC Special Elections that will be held on Primary Day.

 

Not wanting to disapoint Gatey,  here is the list –

 

Congress

 

9 CD

 

Assemblyman David Weprin is on the Democrat, Working Families & Independence Party lines, while former candidate Bob Turner is on the Republican & Conservative. Christopher Hoeppner filed petitions to run as the Socialist Workers Party candidate.

 

Assembly

Chuck Schumer aide Philip Goldfeder is also on the Democrat, Working Families & Independence Party lines, while retired police officer Jane Deacy is on the Republican & Conservative… Vivian Carter is the Green Party candidate.

 

27 AD

 

Michael Siamanowitz, an aide to former Assemblywoman Nettie Mayerson is also on the Democrat, Working Families & Independence Party lines, while former Giuliani staffer Marco Desena is on the Republican & Conservative. Justin Jacobs filed petitions to run as the New Yorkers for Reform candidate.

Rafael Espinal, Jr., an aide to Councilman Erik Dilan is the Democratic, Republican & Conservative candidate and also filed petitions to run on the United We Can line. Community organizer Jesus Gonzalez in the WFP candidate, while Deidra Towns, the daughter of Congressman Ed Towns filed petitions to run as the Community First Party candidate.

Lawyer Dan Quart is the Democrat-WFP candidate, opposed by former candidate Paul Neihaus on the Republican-Independence line.

 

As I pointed out in my post on the Primaries, this list is subject to change as candidates drop out or are removed from the ballot.
