Whenever I write a column putting my own spin on the abbreviation “USA”, I often proffer that it actually stands for (the) “United States of Amnesia”. This leads -at times- to responses from some readers who claim that I am being disrespectful towards the country in which I have been residing for the past forty-three consecutive years. They are wrong.
