Taking No Prisoners Again

Earlier I outed Leroy G. Comrie for using close to two hundred thousand dollars on his re-election campaign when in actuality he had no opponent; well there are others. I am going to give you a list of the really egregious and odious ones who did the same thing; or those whose opponents were so weak that they didn’t need to spend a dime (collectively). And I mean that both literally and figuratively.

Let’s start with comptroller Bill Thompson, he spent $2,380,985. Can anyone tell me what he spent this money on?

Then Borough Presidents:

Helen Marshall spent $125,381.

Marty Markowitz spent $ 1,098,757. Imagine over one million dollars spent. Marty must have thought this money came from the Hyfin-credit union scandal, from which he escaped jail although pleading guilty almost 20 years ago.

Then there is Adolfo Carrion-the Bronx Boro Prez, he spent another million ($1,021,668 to be exact), on what? His upcoming run for Mayor or Comptroller?

Then the council-members:

Speaker Christine Quinn spent $190,472.

David Yassky spent $210,975 doing what? Running for congress?

Bill deBlasio spent $218,983.

Gale Brewer $112,426.

Erik Dilan $110,420.

John Liu $110,420. Must be that his Public Advocate (2009) ambitions are costly, no?

Eric Goia took the prize, he spent $313,686. Must be his impending congressional run.

Miguel Martinez spent $148,015. Why?

Anabel Palma $67,803.

That old cagey veteran Al “Rip Van Winkle” Vann spent $30,007. If only his perennial opponent (Richard Taylor) had half of that amount to spend, then Al would have been gone by now: for good.

Peter Vallone jnr. spent an obscene $206,470. Incredible isn’t it?

Maria Baez spent $89,157.

Carmen Arroyo spent $27,840.

So there you have it folks. Please hold on to your pocket books in the future.

Stay tuned-in.
