First of all if Linc Restler is a "hipster," he's from the nerdcore division of the breed (and take it from me, it takes one to know one).
But there's a far more important question here than who gets to be the male member (perhaps not the best choice of words) of the Democratic State Committee from AD 50.
The important question is, "who takes over running Steve Cohn's annual Friday before the election political breakfast at Junior's?"
To Hell With Reform; We Must Save Stevie Cohn's Breakfast. This tradition MUST BE KEPT ALIVE!!!

Virtually every political blog in the State linked the Gatemouth inspired Daily News story about disgraced former Judge Michael Garson becoming a delegate to the Brooklyn Democratic Judicial Nominating Convention.
Typically, the Garson's family joined the press in pinning the blame on Vito Lopez, with Garson's wife, District Leader Laurie Garson, claiming that it was a “typo” on the petitions, and that it was she who was supposed to be the delegate, and Michael merely a member of her Committee to Fill Vacancies.
Of course, as per standard operating procedure, Laurie was required by County to sign off on the proof. And, after that, she carried the petition with the “typo“ without complaint (though to her credit, she didn't get many signatures on it).
But County is denying her tall tale. Apparently, the Party's Law Chair saw former Judge Mike's name on the petition; called Laurie and asked her if she REALLLY wanted to do that, and she said “yes.”
The press should lay off of Vito on this one–they've certainly have enough material without it. Disgraced ex-Supreme Court Justice Michael Garson will be a judicial delegate in Brooklyn www.nydailynews.com

I’ve always said that when to comes to Jonathan Pollard, I'm with the Jewish War Veterans. Pollard is a traitor to his country, and he can rot in jail his entire life as far as I'm concerned. If he loved Israel so much (1) he shouldn't have taken money for his efforts, and (2) he should have renounced his US citizenship and made aliyah.
While I've heard convincing evidence that Pollard's sentence was disproportionate, and that perhaps an injustice was done, given his crime, I'm not going to lose any sleep over the fact that some other traitorous scumbag got a shorter sentence than he did; it's maybe #438th on my list of injustices needing righting when I get the time, which I won't.
Moreover, I suspect that most of those who do lose sleep over Pollard really believe that he did nothing wrong, which is a concept I find personally repugnant. I still remember Shelly Silver once sending out a press release implying exactly that, only to walk it back within 24 hours.
But one must still acknowledge that whatever prophylactic purpose was served by Pollard’s sentence has long been achieved. He’s been in jail so long that no one is going to take his release as a sign that crime pays.
Further, my biggest fear about a Pollard release was the hero’s welcome he’d get. But, given the trade-off in the form of a settlement freeze, I gotta believe that the celebration would be real real muted.
If this is the deal on the table, we should make the trade. ISRAEL: Jonathan Pollard in exchange for settlement freeze extension? | Babylon & Beyond | Los Angel latimesblogs.latimes.com
FROM DOMESTIC PARTNER: If you received an email from Gatemouth asking for money to get back from England, please don't send him anything! We’d like to keep him there for as long as possible. Thanks!
