It is imperative now in this dismal and shattered global economy that Turkey be admitted to the European Union. Turkey is the linchpin to the entire region that surrounds it. Its entry into the EU will bring prosperity to the Caucuses, Eastern Europe, Greece and the Middle East.
Turkey is the missing cog in a vast economic engine that is frozen and cannot move until the cog is inserted into place. Contrary to common belief it will not deplete EU resources and wealth but rather increase prosperity.
You see Turkey, this cog, is the crossroads of the Byzantine Empire an empire that stretched over all these areas for a thousand years bringing untold riches to those within its borders. And it is not just wealth that will be created but a new culture will be born. The culture will be a mix of Christian and Muslim, Eastern and Western, a link between Europe and Asia, a phoenix rising high in the esteem of other nations.
You can almost imagine super train lines being built from Eastern Europe, the Caucuses and the Middle East all going to the hub of Istanbul the nerve center and the former capital known as Constantinople of Byzantium. Think of the golden art of Byzantium and envision the modern splendors of Turkey and the regions around it.
A delay of ten years for Turkey’s entry into the EU is absurd and will only subject the nations around it to continued poverty. Human rights must be addressed of course but expedited service is required for its entry into the EU so that this powerful engine can begin chugging to prosperity pulling all the nations around it along as well.
