The European Union makes for an excellent model for world unity, peace and prosperity not because the EU is better or stronger than the United States but because the union was able to bring together so many historic enemies for the good of all.
England and France fought for centuries. Spain and England were enemies as were Ireland and England. England and France work together today with Germany after suffering through two world wars that killed millions. Scotland has its own parliament, Greece embraces the west, Northern Ireland and the Basque region are at relative ease and wealthy nations help poorer ones.
So if Europe can overcome its centuries old animosities then there certainly is hope for the Middle East where one can foresee Christian, Jew and Muslim living together in peace with peace even breaking out within the various sects and ethnic groups of each religion.
In World War II London was bombed heavily while in return Germany was knocked into the Stone Age yet today they both work together for the common good. Why than not the same for the nations of the Middle East and Israel and the Palestinians?
It does not have to a perfect union but at least a framework of one with some central authorities. But what about democracy? Well with peace and prosperity democracy will rise on its own accord. It may be like ours or Britain’s or somewhere in between or even something new. This will make the Middle East union even stronger. Don’t believe things can change on the dime? Well look at the recent United Nations accord protecting the LGBTQ community worldwide. At first it was voted down, but a few weeks later it was voted in. See it’s easy to believe.
