Who Killed the Waltons

I recently had to take my wife for an MRI.  She has been under a lot of stress lately because of what is going on with our economy and the wackiness in Washington and she slipped on some steps in the rain.

Well the first thing we notice at the MRI place is a brand new foreign made car with a Jesus decal next to a tea bagger bumper sticker on its rear end parked in a handicap spot with no sign of a permit for that on the vehicle.  It was just another sign of today’s uncaring America.

We waited for a short time until an elderly medical professional, wearing old fashioned bifocals, came out to bring my wife in for the MRI and he looked up at the TV and saw that the old Walton’s show was on.  He looked at us in amazement and said to us that his wife always says at times of friction it can’t all be like the Waltons.

And that’s when it dawned on me that the tea party crowd with their anger and greed and racism had killed the idea of the Walton’s in America and that resulted in big trouble for America and the world at large as can be seen from the recent deficit brinkmanship that led to the crash on Wall Street and around the globe and the mass anxiety on the part of seniors fearing for their social security and Medicare.

You see signs of the tea bagger America all over nowadays like earlier in the day I was at our small post office and a man started berating a postal worker because the machine had overcharged him by ten cents.  The worker just looked down at the ground in trauma as the customer continued to yell at her.  She was near tears as her apologies were ignored.  In the parking lot he got into his car with a tea bag bumper sticker and drove off without concern for his speed.

Yes America is taking this abuse with resignation and complacency but soon the fuse is going to burn down and we are all going to lash out and throw these Neanderthals back into the Stone Age come the 2012 elections, that is if America is still here to vote because it just may leave the building after becoming an appendage of the corporate oligarchs and their tea party adherents.  You see it’s not just the Walton’s farm that is threatened but the American way of life itself.
