The Gateway (Mr. Big Stuff Edition)

It‘s pre-primary rush time, as I attempt before the election to do at least three pieces I’ve outlined in my mind, as well as at least one more Gateway, and still see my parents before they go back to Florida.

As such, I probably won’t get to a 10th Anniversary piece on 9/11, a topic near and dear to me, which I touched upon emotionally the other day.

However, in recognition of this momentous occasion, I will once again link a piece I wrote in 2008.

Can anyone please tell me who the target group is for this robo-call?

So dumb, it could have come out of the geniuses behind the Weprin campaign. Donald Trump robocalls for Turner campaign | The Empire empire.wnyc.org

This spot may actually be dumber than the Trump robo-call (and was up for a shorter time than Spitzer's talk show). However, since it's an independent expenditure, it can’t even be blamed on the Weprin campaign–maybe stupidity is just contagious. With all due respect (and the respect which is due is miniscule at best), if Weprin loses, the winners will be Boehner, Cantor, McConnell, Tea Partiers and homophobic bigots.

I won't go through all the errors in this deep-throating of Jesus G by the usually reliable Colby Hamilton, because I am in the process of a longer piece, but the revisionist history that Tish James' election to the Council on the WFP line was an insurgency is preposterous.

The incumbent, James Davis, was shot and killed. He was running unopposed, the deadline to file had passed, and his vacancy committee, which consisted of his mother, gave the Dem line to his psycho brother Geoffrey.

After that, the party, led by County Leader Clarence Norman, supported Davis in name only, while nearly everyone in Norman's control pulled out all the stops to elect Tish. With much at stake, trifecta of interests back Gonzalez in 54th Assembly race | The Empire empire.wnyc.org
