You can learn what conservatives want the world to look like by visiting the Prado in Madrid and viewing the Bosch painting there which shows people being violently punished for eating a strawberry, playing music, drinking and having sex, in general having fun and being brutally punished for enjoying life.
This is the world as conservatives see it empty of joy where people cannot seek pleasure and if they do they are either punished severely or conservatives themselves are perpetually outraged about all the good times.
This is why we had draconian drug laws for many years where black children were given hard time for having a little marijuana while white kids walked free. This is why there are so few conservative artists, poets or musicians. Why they even frown on sports viewing it as something frivolous and not serious.
This attitude is not universal there have been some that enjoyed life like Ronald Reagan who rode horses and wore a cowboy hat or Bill Buckley who played the harpsichord, sailed across the Atlantic and wrote novels. And there is George Will who loves baseball and even wrote a book about it but who is mocked about it by his right wing peers. But these three men are aberrations.
Conservatives care only for their ideology and politics and you will never find them at a Broadway show, a movie and most of the time even a baseball game. Just look at Donald Rumsfeld. He used to take his wife to the movies and sit in the lobby the whole time reading a right wing book.
So this is the world they want but what is the result of what they want? Well you can see that in Madrid also at the Reina Sofia where you can view Picasso’s greatest painting Guernica which shows the violent destruction and death of people and animals after a right wing saturation bombing in northern Spain in the 20th Century.
Yes, these conservatives will arrest a black athlete for drugs but slap the wrist of a white right wing radio show host for a similar crime. They will immediately arrest the person who threw flour on Kim Kardashian but will not arrest a man who gunned down a teenager who was just walking in the rain. That is the conservative world; bursting with pain, agony, unending joylessness and full of violent death.
