It is obvious from the Supreme Court audio of the conservative justices’ questioning of the healthcare law that the country is hopelessly divided. Its conservative red states against moderate blue states, those who believe in science and those who do not, those who believe in helping humanity and those who do not, those who believe in peace and those who do not, those who believe in education and those who do not, those who believe in equality for all and those who do not.
With that in mind it is time for moderate states to go it alone and following Massachusetts lead begin implementing universal healthcare and same sex marriage laws. Let the red states continue as backwards places where people hold signs that read, “I don’t believe in science and I vote.” Where they are the laughing stock of the world, where their citizens suffer in terrible conditions with no healthcare and a poor quality of life while the rest of us are walking upright into the future.
Governor Andrew Cuomo should make healthcare his number one priority. He successfully passed same sex marriage with bipartisan support and now should turn to healthcare. He has the power and the ability to implement Massachusetts style healthcare reform in New York.
It is time to break with the extremism of the red states and go it alone for the sake of blue state humanity as conservatives sink their adherents further into the desolation and despair of Appalachia like conditions and a vacant future.
