The Mask Removed

The Mask Removed

By Michael Boyajian

The trials and tribulations of Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino continue now with his hateful homophobic remarks against the gay community that end with a statement by him which in effect he says do not dare call me a homophobe for that would be untrue.  Yeah sure, so long as gays are kept down much in the same way blacks were in South Africa during Apartheid.

This follows a short period of time during which Paladino made the press rounds showing that he was not an angry white man that he was not the man really who threatened the life of veteran Albany reporter Fred Dicker of the New York Post.

Paladino’s performance during this campaign has been nothing less than reprehensible.  He is not only a disgrace to the State of New York but also his benevolent hometown of Buffalo.  I attended college in Buffalo and they were some of the best times of my life.  This wonderful city took an introverted young teenager and gave me the self esteem that would carry me through my life journey.  Buffalonians were happy modest people not unlike Midwesterners.  They were not the obnoxious bigots of Paladino’s stripe.  They were open minded people who loved their fellow human beings even though their city was declining into the ashes of rust bowl status.

Paladino angrily declares that he hates government yet we have learned that he lives off government rents and tax breaks that do nothing more than create a job or two while enriching him so much so that he can self indulgently finance his own ego driven campaign for governor.

Yes, his latest outburst has removed his mask and shown him to be an angry, and greedy, extremist who does not threaten the status quo but the health and welfare of all New York residents.
