Looking to get away, do some international travel to escape the realities of modern life? Want to see some exotic places, places of historical or cultural value. Great, we have a list of 79 countries you can visit. The only problem is that if you are gay you just may be put to death in some of these countries just for being gay. Kind of makes what the film Midnight Express did for Turkish tourism a walk in the park compared to many of these places.
You see there was to be a United Nations resolution calling for more humanitarian efforts in the way of ending the arbitrary killing of entire classes of people only these 79 countries voted against it by amendment forcing the U.N. to remove the clause about protecting the rights of the LGBTQ community. Who are these countries? Well here is the list:

Afghanistan! Tell you what why don’t we just give it back to the Taliban. Azerbaijan, now can you blame the Armenians for that war! Bahamas boycott it as a tourist destination. China impose tariffs on all its exports. Cuba, well we always knew Fidel was a homophobe. Grenada, we saved this place in the 1980s, wtf! Egypt, ancient institutional incest was ok, but being gay isn’t? Haiti, didn’t we just drop a lot of humanitarian help on these suckers. Jamaica, the home of reggae, no wonder there are no more reggae record producers anymore. Iran and North Korea, what do you expect. Iraq, yes how many Americans gave their lives for this place? Libya, what can you say about an adult who runs around in a uniform all the time. Morocco, you are not going to be taking me to Marrakesh. Pakistan and we are worried about sending some drones over there. Russia? Russia? Saudi Arabia, need any more of a reason to buy a fuel economy car. South Africa, the home of Mandela? Vietnam, maybe McCain was right we should still be fighting that war.
The resolution flies in the face of the U.N.’s own Universal Declaration of Human Rights which affords protection to the LGBTQ community. A document created with the help of Eleanor Roosevelt.
Tanya Domi goes on to say, that the U.K. gay rights and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said:
“This is a shameful day in United Nations history. It gives a de facto green light to the on-going murder of LGBT people by homophobic regimes, death squads and vigilantes. They will take comfort from the fact that the UN does not endorse the protection of LGBT people against hate-motivated murder.”
What is the answer to this murderous mass global homophobia? The U.S. should end all foreign aid to these countries, withdraw all American combat troops there and raise tariffs against their exports including oil. We should also boycott these countries by no longer traveling there on vacation. That will put the pressure on these merchants of hate once and for all.
