Upper Echelon Domestic Violence

The latest scandal to envelop the Bloomberg Administration brings back memories of David Paterson’s tenure as governor where he too tried to cover up a domestic violence charge against a high level official.  Only there is more to the story about New York City Deputy Mayor Goldsmith than meets the eye.  It isn’t just that he was arrested for domestic violence in Washington but that he has abused the city’s workers as well.

You see many city workers have lost their jobs because they moved out of the city in search of affordable housing something that is forbidden by the mayor’s residency requirement which was flaunted by Goldsmith who spent most of his time at his home in Washington.  I mean do you know how many city workers got zapped for similar living arrangements.

You see in the Bloomberg Administration they call for transparency in government but everything is kind of opaque and the big shots are above the law.  Big shots like Goldsmith who was at home in Washington when the December blizzard hit the city and like Bloomberg himself who ignored term limits and bought himself a third term cash on the barrelhead and that my friends is domestic violence against city workers, voters, taxpayers and the law itself.

This is the Bloomberg world where the fat cats lay on a tropical beach sipping pina coladas in winter while city workers shiver in their cubicles fearing for their jobs and there is nothing transparent about all of that Mr. Mayor.
