A Question For Peter King

A Question For Congressman Peter King –

Would you oppose the establishment of a Catholic Church building near the hotel in Brighton, England where your terrorist friends in the IRA set off a bomb that killed 5, narrowly missing Margaret Thatcher?

Taxes & Basketball

|

As sure as death & taxes, one pedicatable result of the signing of LeBron James by the Miami Heat was an op-ed by a Manhattan Institute scholar in the NY Post making a claim about New York’s high taxes versus Florida not having any income tax.

Post’s Pot Attacks CNN Kettle

|

Andrea Peyser in Thursday’s NY Post criticizes CNN –

Struggling CNN is moving from its perch as a reliably lefty news source and positioning itself as a carnival sideshow. How else to explain Post reports that the network is close to signing the delusional, hooker-loving ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer as a chat host?

My question to Ms. Peyser – what would she call a newspaper that employs Ashley Dupre as a columnist?

It Usually Takes More Than 12 Hours For Rudy To Be Proven Wrong

The U.S government can’t force troubled British energy giant BP to defer shareholder dividends or establish an escrow fund for victims of the Gulf oil spill, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNBC Tuesday, noting that any effort by the White House to do so is merely “political posturing.”

DEAL REACHED: BP has agreed to finance a $20 billion escrow fund to pay claims to people who lost income in the Gulf Coast oil spill, an administration source tells POLITICO. Kenneth Feinberg, who was in charge of payments to families of victims of the 9/11 attacks, will oversee the fund..

Be Careful, Andrew

|

On Tuesday, Liz Benjamin quoted Frank McKay, Chairman of the New York state Independence as saying, when endorsing Andrew Cuomo for Governor.

“I believe strongly that he’ll be the next governor, and we’re proud to hold his coat on the way to the governor’s mansion.”

My advice to Andrew – if McKay or any of the other grifters who run the Independence Party ever hold your coat, check to make sure your wallet is still there afterwards!

Espada’a Other Enablers

|

Tom Robbins in this week’s Village Voice in a column titled – Pedro Espada's Enablers -The people who brought you Albany's greatest scoundrel, goes after various developers & landlords who have contributed to notorious State Senator’s campaign.

Robbins writes –

… it should be worth the trouble to aim some of that fury at Espada's enablers. These are the deep-pocketed sponsors who have been all too happy to profit from this scoundrel regardless of his obvious taint.

The names on the checks to New Yorkers for Espada are among real estate's most prestigious. They came from the Rudin family, the respected builders, who gave some $4,000; from Leonard Litwin, the grand old man of luxury rentals, who gave another $5,000; from Donald Capoccia, the successful developer who depends on government subsidies, who gave thousands more.

Do New York Times Reporters Know Math Or The Definition Of Minority?

|

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/29/nyregion/29budget.html?ref=nyregion

Mr. Sampson, a Brooklyn Democrat, leads 32 Senate Democrats, a tissue-thin majority. Most of his members, like most of Mr. Silver’s, are from safe districts in New York City. But the most vulnerable Senate Democrats are from places like Long Island, the North Country and Oneida County, occupying districts that were drawn for — and until recently represented by — Republicans.

Should even one of those members lose without a Democratic pickup somewhere else, Mr. Sampson’s majority will become a minority come January.

A Few Minutes Of Mort Tells Us A Lot

|

I watched a few minutes of Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning, where their guests included Daily News publisher, Mort Zuckerman.

John Harris of Politico reported on a story by Room 8 co-founder Ben Smith about union leaders pressuring Democratic Congressmen to vote in favor of the health insurance plan.

Harris pointed to the role being played by Andy Stern, President of the SEIU.

Zuckerman, in an obvious attempt to imply that Obama is a corrupt as those horrible Clintons, stated said that Stern was #1 on the list of people who had overnight stays at the White House.
