I woke up in the middle of the night with a start.
Someone had asked me a question of political procedure on Gatemouth’s Facebook page yesterday. The question happened to be a matter of some personal expertise. Suddenly it occurred to me that many people might soon be asking this same unfortunate question, and I had to be the first to answer it.
While Katz may very well be correct here about the internal NYS Senate Democratic Conference (such that it is) politics, the title of her piece is just bizarre.
Last year every Latino in the State Senate was in the Majority and Chaired a committee; now none of them do.
I was furious to read a Wall Street Journal opinion essay by former NYC Schools Chancellor Joel Klein on the effect of teacher pensions on public education. Not because of what he said – I’ve said as much myself. But because of what he didn’t say, and when he said what he did. Come on Mr. Klein; you’ll have to do better than that.
As I always say, "Free Speech" is never free; there is always a price.
I know I’ve been hard on my State Senator, Dan “Nicely Nicely” Squadron, but his nominating speech for John Sampson was really something to behold:

I am a Democrat living in a Republican neighborhood. No matter how hot the political debate gets I would never consider harming any of my neighbors nor would they harm me.
