The Rise of Ga Ga

The era of George W. Bush, by now a distant memory, still has historical significance as the age of mediocrity.  Nowhere is this symbolized more than in the Bush Administration whose ineptitude ranged from the War in Iraq to the response to Katrina where an American city was allowed to die.

Riding parallel to that was the lackluster singing stars being born on reality TV.  Yes, we are told, these are now our greatest sensations and from there we are forced to endure the drone of these black holes of the music world sucking the very joy out of music with their bland pity eliciting performances.

But then there came the age of Barack Obama with its multi tasking skills and high caliber intellectual prowess.  This administration was also paralleled by the music world with stars like Lady Ga Ga, impresarios of stunning audio visual achievement.

And it is no coincidence that the rise of Lady Ga Ga occurred succinctly with the rise of Obama for the nation cried out for sustenance after eight years of generic brand low budget cookies.  The age of no and why bother gave rise to a generation that dares to reach to the heavens with real talent, innovation, creative drive and humanitarian concerns.

So the next time Lady Ga Ga rolls off the radio waves think that you stand now in a great age of can do success and care for the planet Earth.
