A few thoughts on this Sunday from Jeter to a Obama/Cuomo Ticket

Mr. 3000/Derek Jeter
Congrat's to Yankees Captain Derek Jeter for his historic 3,000th hit.
There’s a lesson for all of us in Jeter’s success. One of perseverance and determination.

FIVE TEAMS PASSED on Jeter when he started his career, and because of Michigan’s cold weather, Jeter was forced to take batting practice in a car garage, but he still got the job done. Another lesson from Jeter is: No excuses.

Obama/Cuomo Ticket?
The more and more It's tossed around, the more it makes sense. Andrew Cuomo could end up Obama’s running mate. Think about it. Cuomo is on fire in his first seven months as Governor delivering on almost his entire campaign platform, and the current Vice President Joe Biden really brings no energy to the ticket. Hillary has already said she is done with politics, and with Cuomo, Obama/Cuomo would be one hell of a ticket as the economy is proving historically to be working against Obama’s re-election.

Afrika Owes
It was nice to see that 17 year old "Preppy Gun Moll" Afrika Owes, the young lady caught up with a bad boyfriend, and on a wiretap, was able to cop a plea bargin to "gun-running" charges , in exchange for a wrist-slapping sentence that could have her back on the road to college by fall. The onetime Deerfield Academy scholarship student was busted for running with a 137th Street-based Harlem drug gang, ferrying guns among ring leaders. Owes was looking at a minimum of 3 ½ years behind bars. She spending the summer in jail, and will hopefully be a positive role model for a lot of young people detailing her experience.

All of us are blessed
We take it for granted, but boy have we been blessed with some beautiful weather the last couple of days. I was standing at 104th and Broadway, and just thought about how blessed all of us are to be here enjoying the beautiful weather. The weather puts a smile on our faces here in the best city in the entire world.
