We can speculate about Marcus Bachmann, but it is indisputable that Mitt likes mandates.

It seems like every day there's some pol participating in a tree lighting ceremony, even though it's not yet Christmas, but somehow the NY Post can cite the President's menorah lighting at his early Hanukkah party as another sign of his "war on religion."

I suppose I'm in no position to complain about nitpickers (ask City Hall News), but if one is to engage in such pursuits, it helps if you don't refer to a "Reform Temple" as a "reformed temple."

Kinsley puts the question of Palestinian nationhood in nicely balanced and acidic perspective which will comfort no one.

The issues section of Mr. Charlie Barron's website is still under construction, so it features stuff about North Carolina written in gibberish which is probably an improvement over the gibberish that will surely come.

North Carolina's gain will be our loss.

A rare example of the rule on unintended consequences producing a delightful result: In order for a porn theater to survive, it must show reparatory.

Recently, I got into a snit on a thread with someone who posted some personal information about me and made some insinuations I found offensive. Last, week it became clear in a comments thread who this person was—a civic leader named Jim Devor.

I reacted badly, and during the course of this, I reprinted a comment verbatim someone had made about Mr. Devor on my Facebook page. One piece of this comment should not have been reprinted, and has since been removed. In fact the entire column and its thread have removed and reposted without the subsequent imbroglio.

I would like to apologize to Mr. Devor, for though we clearly do not like each other, and probably each have good reason, I’ve never heard anyone comment negatively on his honesty and probity, and I should not have facilitated someone else doing so with the appearance of my imprimatur. Clearly I was in the wrong.
