Some night. Obama sings Al Green, Newt flips script on “open marriage.”

It was some night Thursday night, hundreds of miles apart.  The President picked up from his Inaugural "slow dance" with the first lady……..while in Charleston, Newt actually did a decent job of flipping the "open marriage" story 48 hours before residents of South Carolina vote.

You may not  believe it, but take a look for yourself. President Obama at the Apollo theater last night singing Let's Stay Together by legendary Soul singer Al Green. The President even referred to a long time tradition at the Apollo, "the sandman." The lyrics of the song read: “I'm, I'm so in love with you. Whatever you want to do. The video can be seen at my website.  Dominiccarter.tv
The tune’s refrain underscores a theme of Obama’s re-election campaign: “Let’s, let’s stay together. Loving you whether, whether. Times are good or bad, happy or sad.” (The president did not sing this part, however.)

“Those guys didn’t think I would do it. I told you I was going to do it,” Obama said with a smile and a chuckle, looking off stage.

“The sandman did not come out. Now don’t worry, (inaudible) I cannot sing like you, but I just wanted to show my appreciation,” he said.

The Apollo event was Obama’s fourth campaign event of the night in New York City. It was hosted by Tony Award-winning composer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda with performances by soul singer Green and vocal artist India.Arie. Tickets were $200 apiece for general admission.

Meanwhile as perhaps only Newt Gingrich can, at the Republican debate he took his ex-wife's claim that he wanted an "open Marriage," and seemed to flips it, with the crowd cheering him on.
'I’m appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that' Newt said as he is surging in South Carolina. He called media outlets “destructive, vicious and negative” for picking up on the salacious claim his ex-wife made in an interview with ABC News that ran late Thursday night on nightline.
So it was a night of Presidential singing, and denials from one of the candidates. The race is starting to really heat up.
