Schmuck Award: The Mayor calls the microstamping of bullets his highest priority, and spent over $300 grand on it in 2010; but he might be more successful if he just cut off the millions he’s spent electing the State Senate Republicans responsible for keeping it from becoming law. http://www.capitaltonight.com/2012/04/stand-your-ground-lack-of-microstamping-wont-cost-senate-gop-b www.capitaltonight.com

Mamzer Award: The gun nut lobby makes a cogent point about Bloomberg spending more on electing Republicans than they do, but they never answer a crucial question.

As one of the few liberals willing to admit that the plain meaning of the Second Amendment has some meaning I'm must ask where in "the right to keep and bear arms" is the part where someone who discharges a bullet illegally into another has the right to have impediments thrown into the ability of the police to use non-intrusive technology to apprehend them?

The NRA is not the law abiding gun owners' lobby; it is the murderers' lobby. Daily News lies: Bloomberg far outspends NRA www.gunpoliticsny.com

You think it is swell to change the Chelsea Hotel,

you were talking so brave and so sweet,

giving them head as you outlined your dread,

while the limousines wait in the street.

Those were the reasons and that was New York,

you were running for the money and the cash.

And that was called work for the architect's firm

but it isn't for pols from the left.

Ah but you couldn't get your way, you didn't babe,

they didn't turn their back on the crowd,

they didn't get swayed, I never once heard them say,

I heed you; they don't heed you,

you need them, they don't need you

and all of that jiving around.” None of These Pols Will Be Partying at the Revamped Chelsea Hotel, and They Think Neither Should You www.observer.com

I oppose legislative term limits being imposed by laws, rather than voters at a ballot box, but I'm agnostic about whether G-d should have such a right. Charlie Rangel (and Louise Slaughter) obviously have a stronger view in the negative on the matter than I. Charlie Rangel: Health Woes Won't Sideline Me www.nydailynews.com

Karol Markowicz whines: In the Brooklyn state Senate election now being recounted, a margin of three votes separates the candidates. David Storobin, the current leader, is Russian-Jewish. His opponent accused him of,,, being a friend to child molesters.

Well Karol, aren't these the words of a friend:

DAVID STOROBIN: The public has strong feelings about sex crimes and sex offenders, especially those involving children. Unlike other crimes, even unsubstantiated accusations of sex crimes usually mean being convicted in the court of public opinion until you prove yourself innocent. More than in any other criminal case, it is important that your criminal defense lawyer is experienced and knowledgeable about the special considerations of sex crime cases.

Child sex crimes are among the most serious sex crimes with first degree rape carrying potentially a 25-year prison sentence. Even the lowest level rape (third degree) carries a potential 4-year sentence. And yet child molestation cases remain among the most frequently mischarged crimes against innocent people because children imagine things that they heard about others to have happened against them. The media, of course, usually gets involved and crucifies the defendant before any of the facts are known.

It is easy to accuse someone a sex crime, and then difficult to disprove. In a case involving accusations of statutory rape, an innocent act can be perceived wrongly or the child can just imagine something that simply did not happen. Scientific literature by doctors and psychologists explains why children make up these cases. They aren't bad kids. But children live in a different world from adults. The things they imagine – the boogey-man under the bed, a stone monument waving to them – may seem funny, until children hear about sex on TV and imagine that it happened to them. Gate: This ex-storm trooper condemns Israel for actions it hasn't even undertaken, the targets of which are weapons of mass destruction, not people, and he has the nerve to call to brand this "genocide." The only one stupider than Günter Grass is the Israel official who banned him, giving the bastard the moral high ground and undermining his country’s  image as a free society.
