Mitt Romney has some problems this election season eventhough he continues to run strong in the polls against President Obama.

As I pointed out over a year ago, visual or taped evidence makes a big difference. No one has ever survived it. All those complaining about the difference between Weiner and David Vitter don't get it. You wanna know the difference?

Designating petitions have now been filed with Board of Elections and we can now see where likely September Primary contests will occur.

This list is subject to change as candidates will withdraw or be removed from the ballot after petitions are reviewed.

There are also probably typos & omissions on the list I received.

Once the Board of Elections posts its certified election results, I usually do at least one story where I try to glean what there is to be found from the data.  As you may have noticed, I’ve already done one story from this year’s data.

Last year, I made a big hit with a column about the write-in vote in NYC elections—so big a hit that it got picked up as a national story by Politico.

I love Mary Alice Miller, but a few points are in order about her piece puffing the nearly non-existent prospects of the State Senate Dems, which should be subtitled “The World According to Mike Gianaris’ Masturbation Fantasies.”:
